GREEK ISLANDS SUPPERCLUBS AT AIGAION HOUSE

There are many ways to travel. Some involve airports, itineraries, and time zones. Others begin at a table, with a plate of food and an open heart. In Greek culture, the table is not just a place for eating. It is a space for pause—for conversation, for memory, for the gentle act of coming together.

This year we decided that we wanted to properly welcome summer with a Greek Islands Supperclub hosted in our own beautiful Greek Urban Garden at Aigaion House. It marked a special moment: the first to take place in this beautiful inner courtyard, where time slows down and details speak.

The evening unfolded like a story. Under dappled lights and upbeat nostalgic Greek tunes, guests were welcomed with a summer aperitif with tomato and fresh oregano. The menu—inspired by Greece’s culinary heritage—was a tribute to seasonality and flavors of the Aegean Sea.

It was not about reinventing tradition, but rediscovering it. Fresh herbs from village gardens. Recipes whispered from one cook to another. The slow simmering of flavours that hold memory in every bite.

For us at Istorja, these gatherings are an extension of our Slow Food ethos. They honour seasonality, local ingredients, and our cultural heritage—dishes passed down through generations, reimagined with care and intention.

In a world that rushes past in deadlines and scrolls, the act of coming together around a table becomes more than a meal. It is a return to presence. On the Greek islands, the table has never been just a place to eat—it is a place to pause. To share plates and stories. To pour wine and let time stretch gently into evening. Here, conversation lingers, and connection deepens—one bite, one sip, one memory at a time.

We look forward to more of these moments, shared under open skies and candlelight.
